Becoming a Certified Aromatherapist

The National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy, of which I am a professional member, has provided some guidelines to advance worldwide education in the field. In May of 1998, new standards were developed by an international group of educators and was voted in by the NAHA professional membership. In the near future, colleges can submit its curriculum and program to NAHA for accreditation. At the present, an individual can become a certified aromatherapist, in as little as one day, with anyone who desires to teach a course in essential oils. When standards are set, certification will have more meaning.

Jeanne Rose is one of the founding members of NAHA. I have studied with her for the past few years through a hands-on correspondence course. In November this year, I will attend an intensive two day course on oil blending that she will present in Atlanta.
